About The Role

The Department of Humanities, Arts, & Film (HAF) at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time, and tenure-earning position for an Assistant Professor of Digital Media Arts. Expected start date is August 7, 2027. Salary is negotiable.

The faculty member will teach interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate courses and advise MA student thesis projects.
A Ph.D. in film studies, media studies, cultural studies, communication, or another related field from an accredited institution is required. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
Preferred areas of expertise include digital art and aesthetics, video art and animation, and the social and cultural histories of film and video production, distribution, exhibition, and reception across narrative and non-narrative as well as theatrical and non-theatrical domains.
