Ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as an accountant assisting with monthly financial statement close, managing direct and indirect rates, contract performance tracking, working in a CAS environment, and more.</p>
<p>Ideal candidate must be a proactive, experienced accounting professional who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, drive process improvement, and provide oversight across finance operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist with monthly close process and step up into broader role as a backup for team absences, as needed.</li>
<li>Be cross-trained on close procedures, journal entries, and reconciliations sufficient to cover for others without disruption</li>
<li>Reconcile general ledger accounts to project ledger, research variances, and maintain audit-ready documentation</li>
<li>Manage Accounts Payable (AP) function</li>
<li>Partner with program/contracts teams to develop basis of estimates, supporting documentation, and regular program-level financial reporting</li>
<li>Assess our anticipated CAS coverage and obligations, lead the development and maintenance of CAS Disclosure Statements (not subject to CAS yet)</li>
<li>Prepare and manage CAS-related reporting and support any CAS audits or reviews (TBD)</li>
<li>Serve as a key contributor to the implementation of accounting (Bill.com, Concur) and new enterprise software</li>
<li>Help design workflows, approval hierarchies, and integrations with our existing accounting system</li>
<li>Support employee training and serve as an internal go-to resource post-launch</li>
<li>Experience with U.K. subsidiary accounting would be a nice to have, not need to have attribute</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting</li>
<li>Direct experience with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) in a government contracting environment, including CAS Disclosure Statements and CAS reporting</li>
<li>Experience implementing accounting software</li>
<li>Strong Excel and analytical skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead process improvements, and manage competing priorities</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Concur</li>
<li>Prior involvement in DCAA and financial audits</li>
<li>Deep knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition methods (T&M, CPFF, FFP contracts)</li>
