Advanced Equipment Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates advanced leadership and mentoring capabilities, serving as a role model for technicians and team members.
• Serves as the highest technical authority for equipment systems and reliability strategy.
• Responsible and accountable for equipment downtime troubleshooting, post-maintenance buyoff, and execution of preventive maintenance activities as scheduled.
• Collaborates with and supports the engineering team in equipment setup, installation, buyoff, qualification, and improvement projects.
• Acts as the main point of contact for the Manufacturing and Planning teams regarding equipment downtime and performance escalations.
• Responsible and accountable for achieving key Maintenance KPIs, including:
• Downtime %
• OEE %
• “Zero Defect” mindset
• Slot Percentage
• Provides technical guidance and support to lower technicians.

Required

• Diploma, Certificate, or Technical/Vocational qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry is preferred.

Preferred

• Familiar with semiconductor test equipment and tester handlers, including Pick-and-Place Handlers and automated handling systems.
• Basic knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willing to work on rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and on-call support when required.
• Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high equipment uptime and operational excellence.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment-related issues effectively.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and work instructions.
• Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.
• Good communication skills in both English and Malay.
