SE Environmental Health & Safety Aide

JOB SUMMARY: Assist Faculty and Staff in the Arts and Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, and Physics) to ensure safe practices, inspect safety equipment and correct deficiencies found in studios, and research & teaching laboratories.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Label secondary chemical containers with appropriate labeling. Assist in maintaining chemical inventories.
• Conduct periodic inspections of safety equipment (eyewashes, chemical fume hoods, etc.).
• Assist researchers in preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Conduct safety inspections within laboratories and studio using checklists.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong science background and familiarity with laboratory environments.
Pay Grade: SP Student 3, starting at $14.45/hour
