Manager/Assistant Manager (Integrated Operations Department)

[What the role is]

The Vector Control Operations Division (VCOD) safeguards public health through the surveillance, prevention and control of vector-related diseases and risks in Singapore.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Operations Control and Planning Branch. In this role, you will work on operational projects from planning to implementation, and explore how automation, digital tools and emerging technologies can be leveraged to streamline workflows and enhance vector control operations.

• Develop and review vector control strategies and programmes, including operational workflows and processes
• Support programme implementation by working with NEA Regional Offices and other stakeholders, including conducting site visits to understand ground conditions and operational needs
• Plan and manage projects from conceptualisation to implementation, including requirements, timelines, procurement and contracts, stakeholder coordination, budget tracking and contractor performance
• Improve operational efficiency by streamlining and automating workflows, and exploring the use of Excel, AI, new technologies and digital solutions
• Communicate findings and recommendations through reports, proposals, presentations and submissions to internal and external stakeholders

• Organised, meticulous and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines concurrently
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to take initiative and learn new skills
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Have a keen interest in applying technology and automation to solve operational problems and improve work processes
• Proficient in the Microsoft suite of tools and comfortable using them to streamline and automate workflows. Experience with AI tools would be an advantage
• Enjoy analysing problems, improving processes, and developing practical solutions
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders
• Willing to conduct site visits and work outside of regular office hours, including on weekends or public holidays, when operationally required
