Technical Lead (Java)

Join our Payments Performance team as a Technical Lead (Java). In this role, you will design and evolve systems that optimize payment performance, including payment routing, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead the technical architecture and design of Java-based projects, and optimize application performance. This position requires a strong strategic mindset, in-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles, and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Java development.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance systems for payment routing, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection.
• Lead the technical architecture and design of Java-based projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability, while optimizing application performance.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices, while also generating and presenting detailed systems reports.
• High-level project management skills
• Well-versed in the software development life cycle
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
• Experience with Java development frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and readable code
• Event-driven architecture design experience
• Ability to solve complex software system issues
• Upper-intermediate written and spoken English proficiency
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Java development
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP (desired)
• Being a team player, enjoying working with your own team and collaborating with other teams in the organization
• Solid experience in Java application development and software architecture
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with monitoring applications in production using telemetry tooling such as Newrelic, Datadog, Grafana + Prometheus, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, distributed logs like ELK, etc
