Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on, and visionary engineering leader with a strong background in luxury hotels, large-scale resorts, or complex hospitality environments. Passionate about operational excellence, sustainability, innovation, and service, you will be responsible for defining, leading, and elevating the resort's overall Engineering and Facilities strategy, ensuring a safe, efficient, sustainable, and world-class environment aligned with The Ritz-Carlton standards.
Your leadership will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation and long-term performance of the resort's buildings, facilities, technical systems, and infrastructure, while inspiring multidisciplinary teams and contributing to an exceptional guest and associate experience.
Your responsibilities will include...

Define and execute the resort's comprehensive Engineering and Facilities strategy, aligned with The Ritz-Carlton vision, Gold Standards, and Marriott International policies.

Lead and oversee all engineering, maintenance, facilities, utilities, technical services, and building operations across the resort.

Ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all critical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, fire and life safety, elevators, pools, kitchens, refrigeration, energy systems, and other technical infrastructure.

Maintain the highest standards of preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing downtime and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Drive departmental financial performance through effective budget management, energy optimization, cost control, procurement, inventory management, and maintenance planning.

Develop and manage the Engineering annual budget, CapEx projects, replacement programs, and long-term asset management plans.

Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Rooms, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless resort operations.

Lead energy, water, and resource efficiency initiatives, supporting the resort's sustainability objectives and identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

Monitor technical performance indicators, utility consumption, maintenance costs, asset condition, and operational risks, implementing corrective and continuous improvement actions.

Ensure full compliance with Spanish legislation, health and safety requirements, fire and life safety regulations, environmental standards, technical building regulations, and all applicable legal requirements.

Ensure compliance with Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton engineering, safety, quality, and brand standards.

Manage relationships with external contractors, engineering consultants, technical service providers, utilities companies, and strategic suppliers.

Lead major maintenance programs, renovations, refurbishments, technical upgrades, and CapEx projects, ensuring quality, budget, timelines, and minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Develop and maintain robust preventive maintenance plans and asset lifecycle strategies to protect the long-term value of the resort.

Establish and maintain emergency response, business continuity, and contingency plans related to critical engineering systems and infrastructure.

Identify and implement new technologies, automation solutions, and innovative engineering practices that improve operational efficiency and guest comfort.

Lead recruitment, training, performance management, succession planning, and professional development across the Engineering department.

Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all associates and contractors understand and comply with established procedures and standards.

Represent the resort in technical meetings, inspections, audits, strategic projects, and relationships with authorities, consultants, contractors, and key suppliers.
What we're looking for...

Proven experience as a Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer, or Assistant Director of Engineering within luxury hotels, large-scale resorts, or complex hospitality environments.

Strong technical knowledge of hotel engineering systems, building infrastructure, facilities management, and preventive maintenance.

Demonstrated experience managing engineering budgets, operational costs, CapEx, and P&L-related responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of Spanish legislation, health and safety requirements, fire & life safety, environmental regulations, and technical compliance.
-
Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams in demanding, multicultural environments.
-
Strategic mindset combined with a highly operational and hands-on approach.

Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
-
Proven ability to manage complex projects, contractors, technical suppliers, and multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong understanding of energy management, sustainability, resource optimization, and operational efficiency.
-
Experience with renovation, refurbishment, CapEx, and asset lifecycle management will be highly valued.

Results-oriented approach with a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.

Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate technical data into business and operational decisions.

Fluency in both Spanish and English; additional languages will be highly valued.

Valid work authorization for Spain.
