About The Role

We are hiring for a Central Supply Distribution Technician position in the Sterile Process Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Responsible for managing a multi-million-dollar surgical instrument, implant, and equipment inventory. Provides leadership in the hospital's efforts to reduce instrument costs. Uses discretion and judgment to balance clinical needs with financial responsibility. Maintains productive, professional relationships with SPD, OR, and General Stores personnel, clinical staff, sales representatives, and repair services. Maintains instrument and implant par levels, min/max and reorder points. Makes recommendations regarding the purchase of additional instrument and implant sets. Coordinates ordering, receiving, and distribution of instruments, implants, and supplies; instrument and equipment repairs; product exchanges with other hospitals; and product and equipment recalls. Maintains accurate instrument tray count sheets.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year Surgical Supply Management, Medical Logistics/Materials Management or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Upon hire: Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
  • 3 years' experience with surgical instrumentation and/or implants.
