About The Role
The Technical Service Representative is responsible for providing technical expertise and service support to customers within an assigned territory. This position works directly with customers to optimize coating performance, resolve process issues, conduct product evaluations, provide training, and support new product implementations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for assigned customers and territory accounts.
- Analyze customer issues and recommend solutions to improve product performance and application processes.
- Conduct on-site product testing, evaluations, and process refinements.
- Provide customer training on products, application techniques, and best practices.
- Support equipment installations, startups, and technical troubleshooting activities.
- Evaluate coating performance and assist customers with quality improvement initiatives.
- Document service activities, technical findings, and customer recommendations in a timely manner.
- Conduct process audits and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Collaborate with laboratory, operations, product development, and sales teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of company products, technologies, and industry trends.
- Represent FinishWorks professionally at customer facilities, trade shows, and industry events.
- Travel throughout assigned territories to support customer needs.
- Prepare regular reports on customer activities, technical support efforts, and project progress.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year of industrial finishing, coatings, manufacturing, laboratory, or related technical experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Experience with industrial wood coatings, paint systems, or finishing applications.
- Experience conducting customer training programs.
- Technical laboratory or formulation experience.
