AML OFFICER

Assists the AML Investigation Section Head, through the Team Leader, in the investigation of customers who are subject of adverse news/reports. Responsibilities: 1. Investigation a. Analyzes, reviews and investigates all customers who are subject of Money Laundering crimes sourced from: i. Adverse and Regulatory cases ii. Fraud and Complaints iii. Referrals from business units and BPI Subsidiaries iv. Negative Media Reports b. Drafts Investigation Report on the results of investigation for routing to the Money Laundering Evaluation Committee (MLEC) for decision on the filing of suspicious transaction reports (STR) and corresponding risk classification in the AML Private List. c. Prepares Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), based on MLEC approval, with accuracy and completeness and within the prescribed turnaround time and deadline. d. Facilitates communication and implementation of inclusion of customer in the AML Private List based on MLEC decision. 2. General a. Acts as resource speaker for MTPP training to employees. b. Acts as subject matter expert or consultant on AML-related matters c. Maintains and safekeeps all relevant documentation, records, and communications. d. Updates oneself on any AML-related reports that may affect the bank. e. Handles additional/new assignments that may be given by the AML Management from time to time. Qualifications: Knowledge Understanding of relevant laws and regulations and their potential impact on the Bank’s operations/services and the principles/framework of bank compliance. Skills: Good analytical skills Attention to details Average training skills Proficient in written and oral communication. Computer literate Preferably proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience At least 2 years’ experience and/or exposure in AML /Internal Audit/ front line function in a Financial Institution.
