Founding Product Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding-level product engineering role on a small, high-ownership Engineering team at a fast-growing AI voice assistant startup serving SMEs across Europe. You will take end-to-end responsibility for features, from initial hypothesis through production release, working closely with customers, partners, and Sales to deliver measurable value.

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end, from discovery and prototyping through production deployment.

• Lead product discovery by forming and rapidly testing hypotheses with lightweight experiments.

• Maintain close, recurring contact with customers and partners to surface real pain points.
• -
• Design and implement tracking to gather the metrics that drive data-informed decisions.
• -
• Build across the full stack, driving architecture choices from implementation to release.
• -
• Prioritize pragmatic solutions that balance immediate validation with long-term scalability.
• -
• Take radical ownership of initiatives and move them forward independently.

What We're Looking For

• -
• At least 3 years of product engineering experience delivering features end-to-end in a startup environment.
• -
• True full-stack proficiency across Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and React.
• -
• Experience owning software from architecture and implementation through production release.
• -
• Native-level or B2+ German proficiency, essential for supporting a German-language product.
• -
• Fluent English for day-to-day team communication.
• -
• Deep product mindset with a focus on customer value, not just shipping code.
• -
• Comfort extracting and arguing from data, with hands-on experience setting up product metrics.
• -
• Experience integrating large language models or building AI-powered features is a strong advantage.
• -
• Experiment-driven, pragmatic approach and ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment.
• -
• Availability with overlap in Central European Time (CET).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: EUR 80,000 to EUR 120,000 annually, plus equity. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Fully remote, with required overlap in CET. Primary location is Germany; an optional office in Vienna, Austria is available for those who want it.
