About The Role

The ETSU Business and Finance, Office of Central Receiving invites applications for a temporary Central Receiving Utility Worker.

Employees in this class are under general supervision.

This position operates trucks and vans to safely transport materials, equipment, and other items to and from designated locations. Ensures vehicles are properly loaded and secured, inspects assigned equipment for mechanical issues, and coordinates necessary repairs or corrections to maintain safe and reliable operation. Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, temporary position, working 7.5 hours a day.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of practices and procedures involved in the use of assigned vehicles.

  • Knowledge of state and local traffic regulations.

  • Knowledge of the care and use of equipment.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Ability to operate assigned vehicles on campus as well as in regular highway usage.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods under unfavorable climactic conditions.

  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.

Required Qualifications

Successful completion of the tenth (10th) grade.

Experience in operating a truck and/or van.

Possession of a valid Tennessee operator license as issues by the Tennessee ETSU Police Department.

Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $17.00
