Patient Care Technician I - Per Diem, Days 7am-7pm, 3 West Ortho, Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center

Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
2. Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
3. Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
4. Performs postmortem care
5. Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
6. Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
7. Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
8. Other related duties as assigned.

Required

1. HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• Prior experience in an acute setting strongly preferred
• BLS preferred – required within 3 months of hire
• Patient, compassionate nature
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
• Proficiency in computer-based date management programs and information systems
