What you’ll be doing
- The Financial Rotational Program will be a 2-year program aimed at developing high-potential Staples Finance leaders. The program will allow the participants to complete 4, 6-month rotations on different teams over the course of the program.
- Participants will develop their financial and analytical skill sets at this $10 Billion + delivery business. This role will have a diverse field of responsibility and work directly with leaders across several business units to help drive deeper understandings of business performance and trends, as well, as ensure businesses are performing in line with short and long-term objectives.
- Participants will be assigned a Talent Management Program Manager to help guide them through their rotations. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a full-time role within our Finance organization.
- To be successful in this role, the participant will need to be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to establish strong working relationships with peers and leaders that result in open, active lines of communication. The successful participant will take a proactive approach to interpreting business results and subsequently, share those findings with the goal of influencing and driving business behavior
Rotation Opportunities
- Corporate Finance: Key role in managing the P&L monthly, including analysis and reporting between our key business units, expense management, capital allocation, and board management support. Support budgeting and long-range planning.
- Supply Chain Finance: Analyze and optimize over $1 Billion across our distribution and delivery network and drive inventory rationalization
- Business Unit Finance: Become a key business partner and finance expert across different business units at Staples. Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles specific to each business
- Business Units include: Dotcom Finance, HiTouch Finance, SBA (Category focus) & SBA (Regional Focus) Finance, and Quill.com Finance
- IT Finance: Forecast and optimize our spending and priorities for the technology systems that enable Staples to operate
- Own Brand and Merchandise Finance: Understand and analyze key product trends across our internally developed product brands and understand key merchandise financial trends
- Pricing: Partner with Staples Business Advantage sales leadership to provide customer-level reporting, analysis, and competitive insights
What’s needed - Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
- Desire to excel and build a career in Finance
- Must be a rising senior (graduating in May 2027, or within the last 1-3 years)
- Flexibility
- Analytic horsepower, including the ability to analyze & present findings around complex data
- Ability to shift between detailed data and big-picture thinking
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with Business Unit, Finance partners, and Senior Leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail required
- Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
