About The Role
The Director of Supply Planning provides strategic and operational leadership for integrated supply chain planning and execution, with responsibility for aligning supply, inventory, internal distribution, and business priorities to improve customer service, working capital, and operational performance. This role leads planning governance, SIOP and execution processes, scenario analysis, performance management, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with Demand Planning, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sourcing, Finance, Information Technology, and executive leadership. The Director develops talent, advances SAP Integrated Business Planning capabilities and standard work, and converts business strategy into feasible, data-driven plans and accountable execution.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the supply chain strategy, operating model, annual priorities, and execution roadmap in alignment with business objectives and the SIOP/IBP process for both internal and external production.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sourcing, Finance, Information Technology, and executive leadership to align priorities and improve end-to-end performance.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for customer service, supply reliability, schedule adherence, capacity, plan attainment, and execution; provide actionable insights and executive-level reporting for both internal and external production.
- Advance SAP IBP supply planning, rough-cut capacity planning, scenario planning, exception management, analytics, master data discipline, workflow, and user adoption both internal and external production.
- Create and maintain policies, standard work, planning calendars, decision rights, documentation, controls, and operating cadences that connect planning to execution.
- Lead cross-functional transformation, business integration, and continuous improvement initiatives that increase SIOP/IBP maturity, planning effectiveness, service, productivity, and organizational capability.
- Manage departmental resources, priorities, technology needs, external partners, and budget responsibilities effectively.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, data governance standards, and applicable controls while building trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Set clear departmental goals, operating expectations, decision rights, and performance measures tied to customer, cash, cost, growth, and risk outcomes.
- Coach and develop leaders and employees in planning discipline, analytics, business acumen, systems capability, stakeholder influence, and accountable execution.
- Build organizational capability through talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, development plans, cross-training, and workforce planning.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented culture that encourages transparency, constructive challenge, disciplined problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, operations, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, SIOP/IBP, or related disciplines, including significant people-leadership responsibility.
- MBA or advanced degree and APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading supply chain planning in a consumer products, manufacturing, or similarly complex multi-site and multi-channel environment.
- Proven experience improving customer service, inventory productivity, working capital, supply reliability, planning governance, and cross-functional execution.
- Experience with SAP IBP Supply, S&OP, Inventory, Response and Supply, or comparable advanced planning capabilities; SAP S/4HANA or ERP experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading organizational change, business integration, process standardization, technology adoption, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives preferred. Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of supply planning, inventory management, capacity planning, network flows, production and procurement constraints, scenario planning, and exception-based management.
- Strong understanding of SIOP/IBP, demand and supply integration, customer service, manufacturing, distribution, sourcing, financial planning, working capital, and operational trade-offs.
- Working knowledge of SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA or ERP data structures, business intelligence tools, master data, workflow, planning analytics, and technology governance.
- Executive-level verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex supply chain issues and recommendations clearly.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, scenario-modeling, and decision-support skills; able to translate data, constraints, and trade-offs into action.
- Strong cross-functional influence, conflict resolution, negotiation, change leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands, lead multiple initiatives, and deliver through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency with SAP IBP and related reporting or analytics applications preferred.

Pay Range
- $160,000 to $185,000 per year.
