Director of Roadway Services

About The Role

DCCM is looking for an experienced and hands-on Director of Roadway Services to lead our team in all roadway services, including planning, design, technical documentation, production and materials documentation, and client service. This role will be an integral part of our leadership team and collaborate with all DCCM disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the roadway department
  • Ensure work is executed on time, within budget, and per client’s expectations
  • Train, mentor, develop, and supervise department staff
  • Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff
  • Ensure division’s QA/QC Policy is implemented throughout all projects
  • Stay current with INDOT design manuals and project development procedures
  • Monitor and determine monthly department billings, profitability, staff utilization, and staffing projections
  • Identify hiring needs and assist with interviewing
  • Participate in annual performance review of division staff
  • Review and approval of timesheets and expense reports
  • Participate in proposal development
  • Provide industry support for business development staff
  • Prepare and review scope and fee justifications in conjunction with Project Managers
  • Manage the development of roadway projects, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in the State of Indiana
  • Ten (10)+ years of increasingly responsible project experience in delivery of INDOT, LPA, and locally-funded projects
  • Demonstrated ability and record of profitably managing roadway projects
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually
  • Ability to think creatively, resolve abstract problems, motivate others, work collaboratively, and be self-directed
  • Must be able to work from RQAW’s corporate office in Fishers, IN
