We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Workshop Manager for our Glenrothes depot, supporting a fleet of around 63 vehicles across East Scotland.
What you’ll be doing
As Workshop Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring our fleet is clean, safe, and road-ready. Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and support a diverse team of skilled colleagues, including Engineers, Technicians and Cleaners, creating a positive environment where people thrive.
- Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles
- Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities
- Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement
- Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met
- Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy
What we’re looking for
- Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
- Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
- A people-centred approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
- Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
