Description
Sinch’s Applications portfolio is one of the company’s most important growth platforms. The role has clear scope across Sinch Engage, SimpleTexting, Mailjet, Engage APIs, and related application capabilities. Together, these products help businesses create campaigns, manage conversations, automate workflows, use rich messaging channels, and connect communications into the systems they already use.
We are looking for an SVP of Applications to lead this portfolio end-to-end as a senior product and engineering leader with clear business accountability. You will own the strategy, roadmap, execution and commercial outcomes for Applications, working closely with sales, marketing, customer success, finance, operations, Customer Excellence, and regional teams to accelerate durable GP growth, improve the customer experience, and simplify how customers engage with Sinch across self-service, sales-assisted, partner, and enterprise motions.
The mandate
This role has a clear mandate: make Applications a larger, more integrated, and more customer-centered part of Sinch’s growth strategy. The SVP of Applications will define the product vision and operating model for Sinch Engage, SimpleTexting, Mailjet, Engage APIs, and adjacent application capabilities; simplify the portfolio experience; strengthen packaging and commercial models; improve customer journeys across self-service and enterprise motions; and help customers get more value from Sinch.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Applications portfolio strategy. Set the vision, priorities, investment choices, and operating rhythm for Sinch Engage, SimpleTexting, Mailjet, Engage APIs, and related application capabilities, with a clear focus on customer value, growth, portfolio clarity, and scalable execution.
- Lead product and engineering. Build, develop, and lead high-performing product and engineering teams with clear ownership, strong execution discipline, and a culture of customer focus.
- Drive business outcomes. Own portfolio performance, including revenue growth, gross profit, margin, pricing and packaging, customer adoption, retention, and product-led growth metrics.
- Make Applications easier for customers to adopt and use. Create simple, intuitive product experiences that help customers launch campaigns, manage conversations, automate workflows, use rich messaging, measure performance, and grow with Sinch over time.
- Scale the right growth motions. Build strong product-led and self-service foundations for SMB and mid-market customers, strengthen sales-assisted and enterprise expansion, and create clearer handoffs so Sales can focus on higher-value opportunities.
- Connect Applications to Sinch’s broader platform strengths. Define how Applications should leverage Sinch’s global scale, reliability, compliance, data, developer, and communications capabilities to create better customer experiences and stronger growth opportunities.
- Strengthen packaging, cross-sell, and customer entry points. Create clearer ways for SMB, mid-market, enterprise, and partner customers to discover, buy, onboard, expand, and combine Applications with other Sinch capabilities.
- Grow through ecosystems and embedded workflows. Partner with Sinch’s central ecosystem and integrations teams to make Applications easier to use inside the business systems customers already rely on, helping increase adoption, retention, and expansion through connected workflows.
- Simplify and modernize the portfolio. Reduce complexity across the customer experience, product architecture, and go-to-market model so the portfolio is easier to understand, sell, support, and scale globally.
- Partner on go-to-market. Work closely with sales, marketing, customer success, and regional teams to sharpen positioning, improve conversion, strengthen pipeline contribution, and grow both self-service and enterprise motions.
- Use data to drive decisions. Establish the right operating metrics across acquisition, activation, conversion, usage, retention, expansion, customer satisfaction, reliability, and unit economics.
- Build for scale. Ensure the applications portfolio has the right architecture, engineering practices, security, reliability, compliance, and operational discipline to support global growth.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years across product management, engineering leadership, and business leadership, with meaningful time in senior executive roles.
- Experience leading both product and engineering teams, with accountability for full product delivery from strategy through execution and operations.
- A track record scaling SaaS products and managing complex portfolios across multiple brands, customer segments, and go-to-market motions.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience with P&L ownership, pricing and packaging, gross margin improvement, and portfolio investment decisions.
- Experience with self-service SaaS, product-led growth, and enterprise sales motions.
- Deep customer orientation and strong instincts for user experience, onboarding, activation, retention, and expansion.
- Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders, represent Sinch with strategic customers, and make complex trade-offs clear.
- Proven ability to lead distributed, global teams through change while maintaining urgency, clarity, and accountability.
Nice to have, but not required
- Background in CPaaS, customer engagement, marketing automation, email, messaging, or adjacent SaaS markets.
- Experience leading branded portfolios through integration, modernization, or consolidation.
- Experience with AI-enabled customer engagement, automation, personalization, or analytics products.
- MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
Who you are
You are a product and engineering leader who thinks like a general manager. You are energized by building scalable SaaS businesses, sharpening customer experiences, and creating clarity across a complex portfolio. You can move comfortably between strategy, product detail, engineering trade-offs, commercial performance, and organizational leadership.
You bring ambition without unnecessary complexity. You know how to make hard trade-offs, build trust across functions, and mobilize teams around a practical plan. You are comfortable leading through ambiguity, but you create focus quickly and hold yourself and your teams accountable for results.
You combine strong commercial acumen, energizing people leadership with an eye for talent building a high performing team of “A-players”, strong strategic intuition, hands-on operational drive, strong operational mindset, “productive impatience”, while working with a clear long-term perspective.
