Metroll Qld Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our Bundaberg team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a production and warehouse environment, takes pride in their work and is eager to learn. We are looking for someone who is dependable, has a great attitude and is willing to contribute wherever needed to keep the branch operating smoothly.

About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely operating machinery to manufacture quality metal building products to customer specifications, while also supporting warehouse, packing and dispatch activities.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Operating and programming machinery to manufacture products to customer specifications
  • Selecting, handling and moving raw materials and finished products safely
  • Measuring, cutting, bundling, packaging and labelling finished products
  • Using a forklift to load, unload, stack and retrieve materials and customer orders
  • Checking orders and goods for accuracy and recording relevant production and stock information
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
  • Supporting stock control, stocktakes and general branch operations
  • Reporting production faults, damaged goods, incidents, hazards and safety concerns promptly
  • Providing helpful and professional service to customers and supporting the wider team as required

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will be reliable, hardworking and genuinely willing to work. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as your experience.

You will bring

  • Current forklift licence and proven forklift operating experience – essential
  • Previous experience in machine operation, manufacturing, production, warehousing or a similar hands-on environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow work orders and specifications
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A reliable and punctual approach with a strong work ethic
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work across 4:00am–12:00pm, 6:00am–2:00pm or 8:00am–4:00pm shifts
  • Previous experience with steel, metal building products or similar materials will be highly regarded
  • Overhead gantry crane experience and knowledge of production machinery will be advantageous
