About The Role
Main Responsibilities A. Product Costing Management Develop, maintain, and review standard costs for all pharmaceutical products (formulations, APIs, intermediates) including raw materials, packaging, labor, and overheads. Conduct annual standard cost roll-ups and periodic re-costing aligned with material price updates, BOM revisions, and process changes. Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead – price, usage, volume, mix) and provide actionable insights to operations. Support new product costing and financial feasibility assessments for NPI (New Product Introduction) / technology transfers. Ensure accurate cost allocation across product lines, cost centers, and production blocks. B. Factory Finance Business Partnering Act as the primary finance partner to the Plant Head, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams. Translate financial data into business insights to support operational decision-making. Lead monthly performance reviews (MOR/MBR) with plant leadership, presenting financial results, KPIs, and improvement opportunities. Challenge and support functional heads on budget adherence, cost reduction initiatives, and capital expenditure proposals. Drive a culture of cost consciousness and financial accountability on the shop floor. C. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning Lead the annual operating budget (AOP) preparation for the factory, including production costs, overheads, and capex. Prepare and own monthly/quarterly rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and bridge commentary. Manage the capital expenditure (Capex) process – from proposal evaluation and ROI/payback analysis to post-implementation review. Support transfer pricing computations and inter-company cost settlements where applicable. D. Cost Control & Optimization Identify and drive cost reduction and productivity improvement programs (e.g., yield improvement, waste reduction, energy optimization, procurement savings). Monitor and control inventory levels – raw materials, WIP, finished goods – and highlight slow-moving/obsolete stock. Ensure proper inventory valuation (FIFO/weighted average) and periodic physical verification / reconciliation. Track and report on Key Cost KPIs: Cost per unit, COGM, COGS, conversion cost, yield, OEE impact, etc. E. Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with SOX / internal control frameworks relevant to manufacturing finance processes. Support internal and statutory audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Maintain robust financial processes and SOPs aligned with GMP, GDP, and corporate governance requirements. Ensure proper capitalization and fixed asset accounting for plant assets. F. Systems & Process Excellence Leverage ERP systems, and BI tools for costing, reporting, and analytics. Drive automation and digitalization of finance processes (e.g., automated variance reports, dashboards). Ensure master data integrity – cost centers, BOMs, and routing & etc. in the ERP. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines • 5–8 years working experience with manufacturing cost controlling and plant finance business partnering in relevant industry (pharmaceutical preferred); experience in standard costing and variance analysis is compulsory • Analytic thinking; excellent in Excel and ERP systems; SAP or Oracle (CO/MM/PP module) is preferred • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational data into financial insights; project management skills, effective communication and push for result before due date • Have strong sense of responsibility and strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure • High efficient and quality driven • Proficient in English, both verbal and written • CPA, CMA, or other equivalent certification is a plus
