Control Room Technical Support (CRO)

Wood is currently seeking experienced Onshore Control Room Technical Support (CRO) working a 14/14 onshore rotation to support a Romanian based project for a minimum of 6 months.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major gas infrastructure project, supporting the safe and efficient operation of metering and production facilities during day and night shift operations.

The Role

Duration: Minimum 6 months

We are seeking an experienced CRO to support the start-up and commissioning activities of a Platform located in the Romanian Black Sea.

In this role, you will support well clean-up operations, back gassing of the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) export pipeline, and the safe transfer of hydrocarbons to onshore facilities. Working closely with the client CRO’s, you will provide operational and technical support during the platform's transition into production.

You will be responsible for monitoring and optimising offshore production systems, troubleshooting operational issues, ensuring plant line-ups are completed in accordance with procedures and P&IDs, and maintaining effective communication with multidisciplinary onshore and offshore teams. A strong commitment to HSE is essential, with active participation in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with offshore production and control room experience, strong leadership capabilities, and expertise in DCS/ICSS systems.

• Support offshore start-up and commissioning activities to ensure a safe and efficient transition into production
• Support export pipeline commissioning and hydrocarbon transfer to onshore facilities
• Provide technical and operational support during commissioning, start-up, and early production phases
• Execute and monitor well clean-up operations and associated production start-up activities

• Monitor and optimise offshore production systems, including separation processes, methanol management, TEG systems, utilities, and control systems
• Troubleshoot process upsets and operational issues, providing timely technical solutions to maintain safe and efficient operations
• Ensure all valve and plant line-ups are completed in accordance with approved procedures, work packs, and P&IDs
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary onshore and offshore teams
• Demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making skills in a remote, rotational offshore environment
• Adhere to all HSE policies and procedures, actively participating in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements at all times

Expected

• Valid offshore medical certification (e.g. OGUK or equivalent)
• Proven experience in onshore or offshore control room operations, with the ability to manage production activities and meet operational targets
• Strong working knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety Systems)
• Technical expertise in offshore production operations, including separation systems, methanol management, TEG packages, utilities, and process control systems
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues in a safe and efficient manner.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with experience working in remote and rotational environments
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Competent in interpreting and working to operational procedures, work packs, and P&IDs.
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices
