The QA Engineer 2 - Operations ensures operational quality across releases and environments. This role designs and executes test plans, validates defect fixes, and monitors production health to protect customer experience. The position collaborates with development, product, and support teams to streamline release readiness and drive continuous improvement. The engineer builds automated checks, maintains test data, and improves observability for rapid issue detection. Success is measured by defect leakage reduction, test coverage growth, and stable, predictable deployments.

Quality Engineer 2 – PVD/Anodizing is responsible for driving quality performance and ensuring effective quality control of PVD, Anodizing, and related surface-treatment processes.

The role is key in driving the leading indicators to meet the key Quality metric. Understands the principles of parts, product and service quality evaluation and control and can relate to the organization's goal that aims to minimize the costs of reworking or waste and maximize customer satisfaction through products innovation and breakthroughs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Quality Engineering focal point for PVD and Anodizing processes
  • Plans and coordinates new process, parts and product transfer and start up with internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Review and validate critical PVD/Anodizing processes, including surface preparation, cleaning, stripping, sanding, blasting, masking, coating, color, and thickness controls.
  • Lead qualification and validation of new colors, recipes, materials, tooling, equipment, and process changes.
  • Initiates system improvement to ensure the effective execution of the advance quality planning from parts and product review to FAI production and from process design to process validation of the new parts, product introduction models, as well as the new equipment, new line, new process, new business, and new site qualification audits.
  • Improves and develop advance quality planning from parts, product review to FAI production and from process design to process validation of the new parts, product introduction models, as well as the new equipment, new line, new process, and new site qualification audits.
  • Executes new process, parts, and product transfer, start up, mass production and process sustenance.
  • Generates and establishes the plan on standardization and monitoring of containment actions on internal/external quality issues.
  • Develop, create and review process controls such Product OCAP, Sampling Plan, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan
  • Responsible to create and develop product and parts criteria in compliance to customer requirements.
  • Drives resolution on issues affecting the product and process quality excursions through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Coordinates the establishment of corrective action and leads the driving of cross-functional improvement process through consolidation, review, and deep dive analysis on the failure analysis result.
  • Coordinates and collaborates to internal customers and stakeholders the effectiveness of the applied containment action through performance data analysis and audit results to validate the implementation and effectiveness of applied corrective actions.
  • Create continual improvement plan based on validated quality performance results and effectiveness of the applied containment action for both internal and external quality goals.
  • Executes quality initiatives of the internal refurbishing business by analyzing, understanding, and communicating in real time the quality performance and issues to internal and external customers for proper response, disposition, and reaction plan.
  • Drives the collaboration to both internal and external customers, stakeholders, and related functions in generating containment, corrective, preventive and sustainable action plan for yield and quality improvement based on the result of failure analysis, qualification process and reliability testing.
  • Initiates and leads the change management process to control and reduce or eliminate risk on process, parts, and product changes.
  • Leads yellow belt level project at the minimum which drives continuous improvement to have a robust and cost-efficient process impacting quality and efficiency through innovations.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering. Manufacturing Engineering, or another relevant Engineering discipline may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing or quality engineering experience, with demonstrated exposure to PVD, Anodizing, coating, surface treatment, or related manufacturing processes
  • At least 2 years of Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience.
  • With at least Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory and reliability testing
  • Preferably with 2 years of experience in failure analysis and metrology such as but not limited to SEM-EDS, 3D X-ray Imaging, CMM, etc.
