Qualification Highlights

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to multiple reinforcing ironworker crews through foreman supervisors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily reinforcing steel installation activities for foundations, walls, slabs, structures, and other concrete placements.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review structural drawings, reinforcing steel placement drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work schedules to meet project goals.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance of assigned crews.
  • Perform regular jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with project management, engineering, quality control, concrete operations, and other crafts to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Assist with workforce planning, employee development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, including safety concerns, material shortages, installation conflicts, and constructability challenges.
  • Participate in planning meetings, safety meetings, and coordination activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation of work progress, manpower reports, and production tracking.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have extensive knowledge of reinforcing steel installation methods, materials, equipment, and construction techniques.
  • Must be able to read and interpret reinforcing steel placement drawings, structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have knowledge of reinforcing steel standards, concrete construction practices, and industry best practices.
  • Must have basic computer skills and the ability to complete reports and documentation.
  • Must be able to identify, evaluate, and resolve field construction issues while maintaining schedule and quality requirements.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of construction safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying industrial environments as required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
  • Previous experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • NCCER Ironworker Certification.
  • Experience on large industrial, refining, petrochemical, power, LNG, manufacturing, or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Additional supervisory, leadership, or craft-related certifications.

Reporting To: This position is responsible for multiple reinforcing ironworker crews led by foreman supervisors in their daily work activities. May manage 4 or more crews, each consisting of approximately 5 to 15 employees. Foremen directly report to the Reinforcing Ironworker General Foreman, who is responsible for overall coordination, productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance of assigned reinforcing steel operations. Physical Requirements

  • Employees will be required to engage in extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, sitting, and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate effectively with crews, supervisors, and other personnel.
  • Will use arms and hands to handle reinforcing steel, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • May be required to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work from platforms, structural members, or scaffolding while utilizing required fall protection.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces and other challenging industrial environments.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and wind, while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility vests, gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
