About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Product Design Lead) that will lead the design of Single Phase, In Row, High, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs). This Sr Mechanical Engineer (Product Design Lead) will work in a cross-functional global development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities as required in this dynamic environment to solve complex problems where no precedence exists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design team in technical development of Single Phase, In Row, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
  • Engage with Offering teams to develop product offerings and SRS/ERS
  • Engage with PMO to develop project timelines and ensure on time execution of project deliverables
  • Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
  • Lead and review design work of cross functional engineering team
  • Lead cross functional design reviews and ensure compliance with Vertiv and HDLC design standards and principles
  • Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction change

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical product development role
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
  • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
  • Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
  • Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred 4-6 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.
  • Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
  • Experience working closely with associate’s in manufacturing engineering and production roles
  • Knowledge of UL60335-2-40, NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems
