Special Skills/Attributes

(required for performing the job effectively)

  • Develop and review Fire & Life Safety (FLS) designs for high-rise buildings from concept through construction.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Building Code (NBC 2016), relevant IS standards, NFPA guidelines (where applicable), and local Fire Department regulations.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure fire safety integration.
  • Design and coordinate fire protection systems including:
  • Fire hydrant systems
  • Automatic sprinkler systems
  • Fire pumps and pump rooms
  • Fire water storage tanks
  • Fire alarm and detection systems
  • Smoke management and pressurization systems
  • Emergency lighting and exit signage
  • Portable fire extinguishers
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, façade consultants, structural engineers, and project teams to resolve design clashes.
  • Obtain design approvals from statutory authorities and support the process of Fire NOC approvals.
  • Review consultant drawings, calculations, BOQs, technical specifications, and vendor submissions.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of fire protection equipment and recommend suitable systems.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives without compromising life safety requirements.
  • Monitor design changes and ensure updated documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support to project execution teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and final inspections.
  • Assist in preparing tender documents, technical specifications, and bid evaluations for fire protection systems.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved fire safety designs.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and recommend improvements in fire & life safety measures.
  • Keep abreast of the latest fire safety technologies, codes, and industry best practices.
