About The Role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DBA | Mid based in Brazil.
This is a mid-level Database Administrator role focused on maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing database environments in a multicloud <landscape.You> will support production databases across relational and non-relational technologies, handling both day-to-day operations and complex technical incidents.The role combines database administration, performance optimization, security, automation, backup and disaster recovery <activities.You> will work closely with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and business teams to keep critical services stable and resilient.The position offers exposure to major cloud platforms and modern managed database <services.You> will also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen performance, automation, security, stability, and cost efficiency.This is a hands-on environment suited to a technically curious professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex problems and improving operational reliability.
Accountabilities
- Administer relational and non-relational databases across multicloud environments, supporting production operations and service continuity.
- Provide N2/N3 database support, proactively monitoring availability, performance, capacity, and data integrity.
- Investigate complex failures and technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Participate in critical incident response and crisis management activities when required.
- Prepare root-cause analyses and Post Mortem/RCA documentation, including impact, cause, resolution, and corrective action plans.
- Execute planned database changes in accordance with Change Management processes and operational standards.
- Coordinate and perform scheduled maintenance, patches, upgrades, and updates provided by cloud platforms.
- Configure, update, and apply patches to database instances while maintaining operational stability.
- Perform query tuning, execution-plan analysis, index reviews, and database-instance configuration optimization.
- Manage backup, restore, retention, and disaster recovery routines, supporting the definition, execution, and validation of recovery plans.
- Manage database access, permissions, encryption, hardening, and other security controls.
- Automate administrative tasks, maintenance routines, health checks, and recurring operational activities.
- Support cloud resource provisioning, capacity planning, sizing, and rightsizing initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
- Participate in on-call rotations and planned interventions for critical incidents and operational requirements.
- Provide hypercare support following significant changes or interventions, monitoring environments through stabilization.
- Plan and execute activities and projects using Agile methodologies and sprint-based organization.
- Record, monitor, and resolve incidents and service requests through ITSM tools.
- Collaborate with business, development, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvements related to stability, performance, security, automation, and cloud costs.
Requirements
- Professional experience administering databases in production environments.
- Solid knowledge of at least two of the following database technologies: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Experience with managed database services in at least one of the following environments: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or MongoDB Atlas.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience investigating database performance issues.
- Practical experience with query tuning, index optimization, and execution-plan analysis.
- Knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, high availability, replication, and service continuity practices.
- Experience managing database access, permissions, and security controls.
- Knowledge of database availability, capacity, and performance monitoring.
- Experience handling incidents and service requests through ITSM platforms.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and root-cause analyses.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues independently.
- Good collaboration and communication skills when working with multidisciplinary technical and business teams.
- Availability to participate in on-call rotations and planned interventions when required.
- Proactive mindset and interest in continuous improvement, automation, operational efficiency, and cloud technologies.
