About The Role

AVP Marketing will support our VP Marketing in developing and managing Commerce Community’s brand and promoting CC events and initiatives. This role will assist with creating engaging digital content, managing social media, and documenting events. AVP Marketing will have the opportunity to develop their creative, design, and digital marketing skills while contributing to CC’s overall marketing strategy.

Time Commitment

6-8 hours/week

Term of Employment

September 2026 - March 2027

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the VP Marketing with executing CC’s social media and marketing strategy
  • -
  • Create, develop, and execute a social media and marketing strategy to increase awareness, membership, and event attendance while enhancing CC's image.
  • -
  • Manage social media channels (Instagram, LinkTree) and promote CC across CUS media platforms (CUSunday, CUS Bulletin, Instagram).
  • -
  • Create promotional graphics, videos, and other marketing materials for CC events and initiatives.
  • -
  • Document events through photography/videography.
  • -
  • Produce monthly newsletters or email campaigns via MailChimp, researching local volunteer opportunities.
  • -
  • Attend weekly meetings and support team members as required.

Qualifications

  • -
  • Experience with graphic design/editing programs and social media (Canva, Photoshop, Instagram, TikTok, CapCut).
  • -
  • Strong eye for design and understanding of social media trends
  • -
  • Experience with Mailchimp is an asset.
  • -
  • Ability to implement creative visions into promotional content. Strong organizational and communication skills with aesthetic sensibility.

  • Ability to work collaboratively/teamwork with great attention to detail.
  • -
  • Deadline-driven and passion for community involvement. An attached portfolio is a strong asset but not required.
