Education Mental Health Practitioner (qualified)

Are you passionate about improving children and young people's mental health and wellbeing? If so, join our Mental Health Support Team and help make a lasting difference in education settings across East Sussex.

As a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP), you will deliver evidence-based early intervention support for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Working across schools, you will provide one-to-one and group interventions, support parents and carers, and help schools develop whole-school approaches to mental health and emotional wellbeing.

You will work as part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team including EMHPs, Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, Advisory Teachers, SEND specialists, Parent and Carer Practitioners and Senior Mental Health Practitioners. You will also play a key role in promoting positive mental health through consultation, training and psychoeducation within educational settings.

We are looking for candidates who

• Hold a Post-Graduate Diploma as an Education Mental Health Practitioner.
• Have experience working with children and young people.
• Can build positive therapeutic relationships with children, families and school staff.
• Have knowledge of children and young people's mental health and mental health services.
• Can effectively manage a caseload and work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
