About The Role
- Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Structural team.
- In this role, you are expected to work on a team providing support to a licensed Civil Engineer while learning the
- company’s standard practices and local agency codes. As part of our Public Infrastructure team, you will be dedicated
- to becoming proficient in Design Software, performing technical calculations, preparing plans and specifications, and
- assisting with other project management and engineering tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the
- applicant must be organized, self-motivated, and able to collaboratively solve complex issues on time and within
- budget.
- Expected start date: January 2026 or May/June 2027 Requirements
Job Requirements
- Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work
- Provides technical, day-to-day design support to the Project Engineer, including drafting support for plan production activities
- Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
- Prepares drawings and visual aids
- Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC RAS, or other related engineering software
- Follow internal QA/QC procedures, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Observes construction activities and works to develop an understanding of construction methods and the translation of engineering drawings and specifications into the constructed product
- Works to learn the fundamentals of engineering processes and to apply them successfully to operating systems
- Coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues
- Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or equivalent field of study, and/or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
- Engineer-in-Training Certificate, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
