About The Role

SUMMARY

Collaborates with the Youth Department Director to implement the media needs and projects of the youth department . Needs may include videography, graphic design, audio video support, social media, and web design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with Youth Department d irectors to determine media goals for Y outh department
  • Meets regularly with YD directors on implementation of specific projects.
  • Films, directs, and edits videography projects for Y D departmen t in collaboration with Y D directors
  • Attends all major department events to provide and coordinate overall media support for events as determined by Y D directors
  • Assist the Y D directors in creating graphics, logos, and promotions for Y D events and announcements .
  • Runs some or all social media channels for Y D department, as determined by Y D directors.
  • Assists support staff in the vision and operation of the Y D website.
  • Works with Y D directors to create media plan for Y D department events and activities.
  • M aintain s inventory and oversee use of SECC Youth media equipment .
  • Instructs in the use of media and online ministry to church leaders in need of education and assistance in consultation with Youth Department Director as schedule allows .
  • Supports other conference media projects, as agreed upon by SECC officers and YM director .
  • Additional related duties as assigned by Youth Director.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required , as well as physical demands and work environment.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree ( B .A.) in Film Production and/or Graphic Design completed or nearing completion. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be a substitute for requirements.

Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information and communicate messaging on behalf of the SECC and Youth Ministries department. Ability to present ideas and needs for media projects and campaigns to those without media background.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Exhibit an ability to solve problems creatively and to make decisions under highly stressful situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Exhibit organization and leadership ability. Must be confidential. Ability to be a team player and work in a teamwork environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; sit; climb or balance and talk and hear. Filming equipment will need to be lifted, carried, and operated . Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision , distance vision and ability to change focus .

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, depending upon meeting and filming locations.
