Financial Controller

Join Adyen, a leading global payment company, as a Regional Financial Controller. In this role, you will drive financial excellence across our global footprint, redesign processes, and leverage automation. You will oversee the general ledger, execute month-end close workflows, collaborate with regulatory teams, draft financial statements, and address ad-hoc reporting requirements. You will also partner with FinOps and Financial Data Teams to optimize core accounting processes. • Oversee the general ledger for various global entities and branches, navigating complexities ranging from moderate to high.
• Execute and validate month-end close workflows, including the review of reconciliations for fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals, while managing routine journal entries.
• Collaborate with Adyen’s regulatory teams to facilitate accurate reporting and maintain strict adherence to all compliance timelines.
• Track record in process optimization and automation. Experience with Workday, Workday Accounting Center, Workiva, or similar ERP systems is a plus
• Able to think 2 steps ahead. We are looking for someone that can think critically and creatively to implement solutions to scale during Adyen’s rapid growth
• You have an analytical mindset and proactively identify challenges and be able to work independently but never afraid to ask for help
• Minimum of 5+ years experience in financial control, accounting, and external audit (Big 4 experience is a strong plus)
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to prioritise
• Experience in Branch accounting is highly valued; professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, or RA are considered a significant advantage
