Associate General Counsel (Legal & Business Affairs, Litigation)

Join Roku as an Associate General Counsel, Litigation. In this role, you will manage Roku's litigation portfolio outside of intellectual property matters, including consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and government investigations. You will define case strategy, manage government inquiries, develop novel legal theories, and operate comfortably amid uncertainty. You will also manage outside counsel relationships, serve as a trusted advisor to various teams, and provide clear reporting on litigation exposure and trends.

• Skilled at developing litigation strategy and managing outside counsel to efficient, well-reasoned outcomes

• The ability to chart a clear path for the business through thickets of ambiguous laws and regulations
• Direct experience litigating consumer class actions and/or handling government investigations
• Outstanding legal writing — clear, persuasive, and fast — across audiences from opposing counsel and regulators to the Board
• Substantial experience managing complex litigation at a top-tier law firm or in house — including consumer class actions and government investigations — from case assessment through resolution
• 15+ years of combined litigation experience at a law firm, in-house, or both
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders and simplify complex legal concepts
• A reputation as an exceptional legal writer, with work product — briefs, memos, opinions — that speaks for itself and that you're proud to have us read
• The drive to solve novel questions of first impression — problems nobody in the building, and maybe nobody yet, has answered
• Strong track record of handling complex legal issues in a fast-paced, technology-driven company
• Proven ability to build relationships and operate effectively across a matrixed organization
• The gift for breaking down complex arguments into simple, elegant narratives that persuade without ever feeling dumbed down
