About The Role

Join our team as an Accounting Manager, where you will take ownership of operating expenses and general accounting. This hands-on role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to build scalable processes. You will lead the close, manage a team of two, and partner closely with Finance and the business to ensure accurate and reliable financials. This position is based in our San Francisco office and reports to the US Controller.

  • Lead the close process, manage a team of two, and build systems and processes that scale with the business.
  • Own the full stack from vendor invoice to cap table, with AP, payroll, leases, fixed assets, and equity accounting under one roof.
  • Identify and drive improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to support scale, reduce risk, and prepare the company for future growth.
  • Systems and processes are continuously improving and scaling with the business
  • The audit process is organized and low-friction
  • You operate with high ownership and strong alignment, knowing when to move quickly and when to involve stakeholders
  • Operating expenses and cash flows are clearly understood, with visibility into key drivers
  • The close is predictable and efficient, and financials are accurate
  • You run multiple close cycles, audits, and process changes at once without dropping one when another gets hard
  • You use AI tools as a real part of how you work - to move faster on preparation, reconciliations, research, and documentation - with the judgment to know what has to be verified before it touches the books
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • You’ve set a close calendar and held FP&A, Tax, and cross-functional partners to it, instead of chasing them after the fact
  • You have 6+ years of accounting experience
  • You’ve found a broken accounting process midstream and rebuilt it before it slowed down the close
  • You’ve taken accounting areas end-to-end through an external audit and worked directly with auditors, and you keep workpapers and schedules audit-ready year-round
  • You know US GAAP well enough to make the accrual, cutoff, and capitalization calls yourself, and to explain them clearly to an auditor
  • You communicate clearly in writing and in person, you can walk a non-finance partner through a variance, push back on a business owner with data, and leave a reviewer with no follow-up questions
  • The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don’t fit this role exactly, tell us where you would
  • You’ve owned the close and the general ledger in a multi-entity environment, without a controller reviewing every entry first
  • Bonus: CPA and/or public accounting background; hands-on ERP implementation, migration, or upgrade experience
  • You’re comfortable in a modern finance stack – Claude, Codex, Snowflake, NetSuite, Ramp and Brex - and fast and accurate in Excel for anything the system can’t handle
