About The Role
Group Company: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, VAML Designation: M3, AGM Office Location: Korba, Chhattisgarh Roles & Responsibilities: FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Logistics Planning & Execution • Lead end-to-end logistics operations for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods. • Ensure seamless movement of materials through rail, road, multimodal, and EXIM channels while maintaining service levels. Transportation Management • Develop transportation strategies to optimize freight costs, transit time, and asset utilization. • Manage transporters, freight contracts, route optimization, and logistics partners to ensure uninterrupted operations. Warehouse & Inventory Management • Oversee warehouse operations, storage optimization, inventory controls, and material handling systems. • Drive inventory accuracy and minimize inventory carrying costs while ensuring business continuity. Rail & EXIM Logistics • Manage railway coordination, rake planning, siding operations, customs clearance, port operations, and export-import logistics. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and efficient cargo movement. Supply Chain Optimization • Identify opportunities for improving logistics efficiency, reducing lead time, and enhancing supply chain visibility. • Implement digital solutions and automation initiatives for logistics excellence. BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS Leadership • Provide strategic direction and leadership to logistics, warehousing, transportation, and EXIM teams to achieve business objectives. • Build a high-performance culture by developing team capabilities, driving accountability, and fostering collaboration. Strategic Thinking • Develop long-term logistics and supply chain strategies aligned with organizational growth, cost optimization, and operational excellence goals. • Anticipate market trends, regulatory changes, and business challenges to proactively adapt logistics strategies. Problem Solving • Address complex logistics, transportation, and supply chain challenges through innovative and practical solutions. • Analyze operational bottlenecks, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE •Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline. Master's Degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management preferred. •15+ years of progressive experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Warehouse, and Materials Management, preferably in manufacturing, metals, mining, or process industries. •Proven experience in managing rail, road, port, EXIM logistics, warehouse operations, inventory optimization, and logistics cost management. •Strong exposure to stakeholder management involving Railways, CONCOR, CHA, Transporters, Customs, Port Authorities and Business Functions.
