About The Role
Responsible for coordinating medium-voltage electrical projects, supervising a team of two energy analysts, and developing high-quality, standardized medium-voltage installations for both new store openings and existing operations. Ensures the reliability of electrical services critical to store operations, supports the achievement of energy cost saving objectives, and provides technical support for electrical requirements related to new store openings.
- Holds overall responsibility for the supervision and execution of medium‑ and low‑voltage electrical projects across multiple locations, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and alignment with corporate standards. Leads the electrical scope for new store openings, including the planning, coordination, and execution of permanent electrical infrastructure and service connections.
- Manages the contracting process for new electrical services in opening stores, coordinating with utility providers to secure timely, compliant, and cost‑effective electrical supply. Proactively prevents unnecessary operational expenses by minimizing reliance on temporary power solutions, such as electrical generators, in both opening and operating stores through effective planning and execution.
- Oversees the training, onboarding, and qualification of new electrical service vendors, averaging approximately 20 vendors per fiscal year, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and technical standards.
- Leads negotiations and ongoing coordination with the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE), representing company interests to secure electrical connections, resolve service issues, and ensure compliance with governmental requirements. Ensures the continuous and reliable supply of electric energy for new store openings, supporting critical timelines and operational readiness.
- Ensures full compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and permitting requirements related to electrical installations, including local, state, and federal regulations. Maintains close coordination with construction and design departments to align electrical systems with architectural plans, construction schedules, and operational needs.
- Simultaneously monitors, tracks, and reports progress across 30–40 active electrical projects, identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving timely completion. Develops, implements, and enforces standardized electrical design and installation criteria across AZ Mexico stores, ensuring consistency, safety, operational efficiency, and long‑term cost optimization.
- A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
- Electrical, mechanical, civil engineering.
- Three to Five years
- 3 years in medium-low voltage projects, 3 years CFE management experience, 3 years retail sector experience
