Finance Manager

Responsibilities

 Dedicated financial resource for his/her respective program

 Responsible for the exchange of actuals, budgets and forecasts and other routine financial matters

 Need to maintain a thorough understanding of the program

 Should have command of all current program assumptions/plans and the financial impact in order to properly analyze and challenge the data incorporated in budgets/forecasts vs. what is currently in discussion

 Provide program financial analysis to the program teams, including Sr. Management, Project Direction/Program Management, development teams, and external collaborators

 Serve as the program’s financial contact with collaborators for the exchange of actuals, budgets and forecasts and other routine financial matters related to the program.

 Coordinate the gathering and drafting of all variance explanations from the Functional Finance groups. Ensure that quarterly activity reports are prepared and distributed to the collaborators

 Develop financial scenarios/outcomes (external expense and FTE’s) for the program and communicate these for decision making to Program Direction, Program Management and the Sr. Management Team

 Ad-hoc requests to support the business and Sr. Management

Skills, Experience and Education

•  5+ years of progressive finance experience with some supervisory experience
•  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a quantitative field; MBA preferred
•  Exceptional analytical skills. Strong knowledge of forecasting and business analytics
•  Proficient in Excel. Experience with Pivot tables and/or Hyperion a plus.
•  Personable and professional enough to interact with various levels of Management on a frequent basis.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
•  Biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred
•  Ambitious and energetic – wants to be challenged and grow with our company
