Pay Rate: Up to $30.50/hour (Depending on Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, accounting activities, and employee-related functions in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing payroll and accounting responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

What You'll Handle

Payroll & Employee Support

  • Process weekly payroll for office and field employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and review payroll processing systems for accuracy and timely processing.
  • Enter and verify employee changes, including new hires, terminations, pay-rate changes, benefits, 401(k), garnishments, taxes, and other deductions .
  • Prepare, balance, and review payroll transactions and related records.
  • Process weekly employee expense reimbursements.
  • Provide administrative support to Human Resources as needed.

Payroll Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings on a weekly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
  • Assist with year-end payroll requirements, including W-2 preparation and processing .
  • Maintain appropriate payroll records and documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering requested records and information.

Accounting & Administrative Duties

  • Assist the Accounting Department with day-to-day accounting activities.
  • Process and reconcile company credit card transactions .
  • Download and upload weekly data files related to health and dental insurance .
  • Maintain accurate financial and employee records.
  • Help ensure payroll and accounting information is complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required , or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience .
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including:
  • Payroll preparation and balancing
  • Payroll taxes
  • Internal controls
  • Employee deductions and benefits
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting HR and Accounting functions.
