HVAC Service Technician

About The Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent service while ensuring system efficiency and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC systems and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Install, test, and commission HVAC equipment including air conditioners, chillers, heat pumps, furnaces, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance reports.
- Respond to emergency service requests and equipment breakdowns.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service findings, recommendations, and repair costs.
- Manage tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory responsibly.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and optimize HVAC system performance.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, ITI, or Technical Certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and testing equipment.
- Valid driver's license (if field service role).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency call-outs when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC/R certification or relevant trade license.
- Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of energy management systems and preventive maintenance practices.
- Understanding of local safety and environmental regulations.
