The role | Te tūnga

As Financial Accountant, you’ll provide broad financial accounting support across the Department, working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and wider Finance team. You’ll contribute to accurate and timely monthly and annual reporting, help maintain financial information and provide day-to-day financial support to the business.

You’ll also contribute to the Department’s annual report and support responses to Select Committee and Official Information Act requests. This is a varied role where you’ll build your financial accounting expertise while working across a range of reporting, accounting and financial management activities.

What you bring | Nōu te rourou

  • Financial accounting experience, ideally within a large or complex organisation
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP and financial accounting processes
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information simply
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

The salary range for this role is $94,499 - $117,598, with appointments likely to be made at the midpoint of $104,998.
