Founding BDR
Clera · Berlin, Germany
About The Role
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the founding BDR seat at an early-stage B2B AI startup selling intelligent agents into Europe's industrial enterprises. You will own the entire top of funnel, working directly alongside the COO to define how the company reaches procurement leaders and C-level buyers at complex manufacturers. The pipeline starts with you, and the market intelligence you surface shapes everything downstream.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Make cold calls every day, treating each conversation as real-time market feedback and an opportunity to sharpen your approach.
- Build and prioritize a target account list, identifying which industrial enterprises fit the ideal customer profile and which trigger events make now the right moment to reach out.
- Execute multi-channel outreach cadences across cold call, LinkedIn, and email, spotting what lands and feeding insights back to improve messaging week over week.
- Work the warm pipeline generated from trade fairs, webinars, and existing relationships, converting interest into booked discovery meetings.
- Book qualified meetings with procurement leaders and C-level contacts at complex industrial enterprises, with a focus on meetings that move revenue rather than activity metrics.
- Feed market intelligence back to the team: objections, patterns, and sharpened positioning inform how the company goes after accounts next.
- Shadow discovery calls today with a clear path to running them independently as you grow into the role.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 0 to 2 years of commercial experience in sales, fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, or a venture of your own, with a demonstrated track record of winning over stakeholders.
- Fluent German, essential for phone-based conversations with German industrial buyers, and strong professional English.
- Proven ability to execute cold outreach by phone, email, and LinkedIn, and convert those efforts into qualified meetings with enterprise decision-makers.
- Experience building and prioritizing target account lists with an understanding of ICP definition and pipeline management.
- Comfortable working in B2B or enterprise sales environments with complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes.
- Resilient and growth-oriented: you treat rejection as information, seek hard feedback from call reviews, and show measurable improvement over short timeframes.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales engagement platforms is a plus, as is exposure to supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
LOCATION
