About The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Equity Derivatives Sales professional to join our team. The role involves servicing clients, developing relationships, and promoting equity derivative products across institutional and high net-worth individual clients. You will also assist in executing trades, preparing market insights, and developing tailored product solutions with guidance from senior colleagues.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in financial markets, with a focus on listed and OTC equity derivatives.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Support senior sales staff in building and maintaining relationships with Malaysian institutional investors, including asset managers, pension funds, and corporate treasuries.
- Assist in pitching equity derivative products including options, structured products and swaps to various clienteles.
- Coordinate with traders in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, to source pricing and execute trades in listed and OTC derivatives.
- Prepare product term sheets, market updates, and investment strategy notes tailored to market conditions.
- Monitor Bursa Malaysia announcements, corporate actions, and regulatory updates from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) relevant to equity derivatives products.
- Maintain a client database, track engagement activities, and follow up on trade settlements with operations teams.
- Liaise with research analysts to deliver sector-specific insights that complement derivative trade ideas.
- Support in organising client roadshows, webinars, and product training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong interest and understanding of Malaysian capital markets and equities derivatives.
- Basic knowledge of derivative instruments (options, futures, swaps) and their applications in hedging and investment strategies.
- Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia, FBM KLCI index, and global equity markets.
- Proficiency in Excel and Bloomberg; knowledge of VBA or Python for data analysis is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus for cross-border client coverage.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Prior internship or entry-level experience at a securities firm, bank, or asset management company is beneficial.
- CMSRL Module 17 & 18 holders preferred.
