Estimator

Reports to: Production Manager

Position Summary: Produce job files as quickly and accurately as possible after a job has been awarded to PDM.

Responsibilities and Areas of Accountability

• Support Steel Sales
• Participate in bid reviews/peer reviews
• Support bid calendar
• Provide VE assistance to clients
• Conceptual price, schedule, and scope development
• Support steel estimating processes and resources
• Subcontractor & supplier communications
• Perform steel estimating/take-offs
• Prepare proposals
• Support metals long range schedule
• Support project management/manage small projects
• Change Oder pricing support & estimate updates
• Lead project hand-offs
• Maintain bid results

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• The ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Computer competency in Word, Excel and other basic programs. AutoCad experience is a plus, but not required.

• Education: Associate Degree or better.
• Experience: Two years in estimating for the construction industry.
