Precast Quality Control Intern

Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor
Position Summary: Inspect precast and prestressed products to ensure quality complies with PDM and Precast Concrete Industry (PCI) standards.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Mark products with identification and appropriate visual markings per PDM’s Color Code System.
- Conduct and maintain documentation of: prepour inspections, postpour inspections, variance reports, bed shut down process, product repairs, shop drawings, items produced at fab shop, fresh concrete testing, hardened concrete testing, aggregate moisture tests, sieve analysis, and initial set tests.
- Inform Quality Control Manager of any nonconformity of product, personnel issues, or equipment issues.
- Perform duties in a professional manner.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure that all Quality Control duties are performed.
- Work closely with production personnel on product quality.
- Perform housekeeping responsibilities.
Areas of Accountability

- Assist in the transformation of the shop floor culture to one of Continuous Improvement and Accountability.
- Demonstrate reliability through exceptional attendance.

- Become proficient in the use of concrete match curing technology (Exact Match System).
- Master documentation of Quality Control testing and inspection records.
- Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings.
Requirements
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced, fast-moving work.
- Education: Currently pursing a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering preferred.
- Experience: Construction related experience preferred.
