We are currently seeking intern/co-op candidates to learn with us as they engage in a variety of hands-on projects alongside our high-performing and authentic R&D team.

Position Summary

This Electrical Engineering Co-op – R&D will assist in the design, development, and testing of innovative medical devices. This co-op position is a fantastic opportunity to apply your electrical engineering skills and knowledge in a real-world setting, contributing to the creation of life-saving medical devices.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Assisting in the design and development of medical devices, including circuit design, prototyping, and testing;
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports;
  • Participating in design reviews and contributing to the improvement of the design process.

Some potential tasks/projects include: reliability engineering support, EMC / IEC 60601-1-2 support, lab management and asset tracking, test fixture development including Altium/ECAD, engineering FMEA documentation improvement, developing board-level reliability models, and design verification support.

Training to be Provided

Students will be exposed to working with various product development departments within Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT). They will learn key requirements that need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products. Additionally, our co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree student with a sophomore or junior level class standing
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the future
  • Able to participate full-time (40 hours/week)

Preferred

  • Familiarity with electrical design tools, preferably Altium
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, programmable load)
  • Familiarity with software tools and programming languages
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with team members from various disciplines, e.g., hardware, software, mechanical, quality, regulatory, etc.
  • Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical writing skills, ability to develop reports for technology development
