Lead Engineer (Mechanical)

Join our team as a Lead Engineer (Mechanical) in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you will serve as the Mechanical Discipline Lead and Professional of Record for substation projects. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of mechanical design drawings, detailed design documents, and calculations. You will lead projects from conception through construction and commissioning, mentor junior engineers and designers, and coordinate construction and commissioning activities with utility clients and subcontractors. A strong understanding of regulatory codes and standards, as well as experience with mechanical design for utility substations, is preferred.

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university along with a Canadian Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
• Strong understanding of regulatory codes and standards, including (NBC-AB Edition, NECB, ASHRAE, NFPA, API, SMACNA etc.)
• Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship is required
• 5 - 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with mechanical design for utility substations, especially projects for BC Hydro is considered an asset
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is considered an asset
