Mission of the role: Join Visteon's Electrical Department as a senior-level engineering professional responsible for leading the design, development, and integration of advanced electrical systems within automotive applications. This role demands a deep expertise in electrical engineering principles, automotive industry standards, and cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and ensure the reliability and safety of vehicle electrical architectures. The position requires collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust solutions that meet stringent quality and performance criteria in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Objectives of the Role: Lead the end-to-end design and development of complex automotive electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications. Drive architectural decisions and technical strategies for electrical subsystems, including power distribution, signal processing, and embedded control units. Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate electrical components seamlessly into vehicle platforms. Conduct detailed electrical system analysis, simulation, and validation to optimize performance, safety, and reliability. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and ensuring adherence to best engineering practices. Manage technical risks and troubleshoot complex electrical issues throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and compliance reports. Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure component quality and manufacturability of electrical systems. Stay abreast of emerging automotive electrical technologies and standards to incorporate innovative solutions into product designs. Lead cross-functional design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Electrical Department. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Successfully deliver automotive electrical system designs that meet project timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, including functional safety, EMC/EMI, and regulatory requirements. Drive effective system integration, validation, and issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle. Minimize technical risks and electrical design issues through proactive analysis, testing, and problem-solving. Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support program success. Contribute to engineering excellence through innovation, process improvements, and technical mentorship. Key Year-One Deliverables: Lead the successful design, development, and validation of assigned automotive electrical systems or subsystems. Deliver complete electrical design documentation, including schematics, specifications, compliance records, and test reports. Achieve successful integration of electrical hardware within vehicle platforms while meeting performance, safety, and quality objectives. Establish effective working relationships with global engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Support the resolution of critical technical challenges and contribute to achieving key program milestones and product launches. Drive at least one initiative that improves product quality, engineering efficiency, technical capability, or innovation within the Electrical Department. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. 8-10+ years of experience in automotive electrical system design and development, preferably within Tier 1 suppliers or OEMs. Proven track record of leading complex electrical engineering projects in the automotive industry. Expertise in Automotive Electrical System Design. Strong experience in Power Distribution Network Engineering. Experience in Embedded Control Unit Development. Proficiency in Electrical System Simulation and Analysis, including the use of relevant engineering tools. Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements. Experience ensuring EMC/EMI Compliance in automotive applications. Knowledge of Signal Processing for Automotive Applications. Proficiency in Electrical Schematics Design and technical documentation. Experience with System Integration and Validation activities. Demonstrated Cross-Functional Team Leadership skills. Strong Technical Risk Management and problem-solving capabilities. Experience collaborating with Suppliers and Manufacturing teams to support product development and production. Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary environments and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI in day-to-day work. Good written and verbal English communication skills.
