About The Role

The English Schools Foundation (ESF), Hong Kong's largest English-medium international school organisation, seeks a meticulous and proactive Accounting Officer to join our growing team. The accounting officer will report to the Accounting Manager (Facilities) at ESF head office. This is an exciting opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands-on exposure to facilities-side cost control and fixed asset management within a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and input payment requisitions into the Accounts Payable (AP) module for bi-weekly settlements.
  • Ensure accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment processing in accordance with ESF guidelines.
  • Prepare expense analyses, and assist to prepare monthly financial schedules.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdown schedules based on tender documentation to support the Accounting Manager (Facilities) for project budget monitoring and cost control.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager (Facilities) with annual physical fixed asset count at ESF Centre and prepare the annual asset count report.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and assist to prepare year-end fixed asset audit schedules.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation.
  • Help prepare internal and external audit schedules and support year-end audit enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing, answering enquires.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary educated with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a sizable organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data management)
  • Possess good written and spoken English, fluency in Cantonese is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with departments.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Able to work effectively, independently and meet tight deadlines
