The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center.

Experience REQUIRED

One (1) full-time year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency.

Experience PREFERRED

Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center

Education/training REQUIRED

1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years.

Education/training PREFERRED

• Two to three units of CPE through ACPE.
• Training at a level-1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital.

Independent action(s) required

• Responds to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care.
• Consults with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations.
• Ability to triage requests and multi-task.
• Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

• Scheduled to work based on departmental needs including day of requests.

Compensation Range

• $23.18 - $35.92 Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
