About The Role

Regions Hospital is looking for a Certified Ambulatory Instrument Processing Technician to join our team!

This role is responsible for all sterile processing tasks, including decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments. The Technician also orders surgical supplies, assembles case picks, and coordinates the repair of surgical instruments as needed. Our ideal Technician will have knowledge of:

  • Sterilization and aseptic techniques.
  • Functions of decontamination, preparation, packing, and sterilizing of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Surgical procedures and instrumentation.
  • Surgical supplies used.
  • Materials Management functions and how they relate to Surgery Center-specific needs.

Our Technicians also have the valuable ability to recognize ongoing multiple functions of a surgical supply department and to prioritize according to the needs of the customer. This role will work at the Specialty Centers in both Saint Paul and Woodbury.

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • No nights, call, or weekends!

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Central Service Technician (CRCST) or SPD Technician through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or two years of experience in a surgical supply and/or surgery department, to include successful assembly of Level I and II instrumentation or comparable surgical instrument assembly knowledge.

Additional Information

This is a union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position, working in Saint Paul and Woodbury, MN. The full salary range for this position is $24.92-$34.88 per hour, based on experience and internal equity, plus shift differentials. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
