About The Role

Assists with the daily operations of the Herff College of Engineering enrollment and student services.

  • Develops and manages pool of prospective students in out-of-state target markets. This position will develop strategic partnerships with education constituents, including counselors, principals, University of Memphis alumni and parents. Communicates with prospective students in person, by phone and mail; counsels prospective students regarding enrollment to the UofM, including admissions requirements, financial aid and other topics.

Responsible for training and direction of Engineering Peer Tutoring. Provide on-going guidance and support to the Peer Tutors helping them to establish and nurture relationships with professors, as well as connecting with students using a host of data-informed best practice ideas for tutoring.

  • Responsible for coordinating student success programs for under-prepared groups in the engineering program; this may include such activities as recruitment of high school students, organization, and participation in special programs such as Engineering Redshirt programs. Assist in student life events and programs.
  • This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Engineering Student Services. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, this position will develop and execute an annual recruitment strategy for out-of-state high school visits, college fairs, and related events. The strategy should be guided by market research and ongoing trend analysis to set goals and monitor progress, ultimately resulting in enrollment growth.
  • Coordinates and communicates with prospective and current students regarding the status of various curricula. Works collaboratively with other staff to create and manage annual communication plans for prospective students. Manages ongoing strategic communications with high school counselors, including email, print, and other media.
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and supervision of regional recruitment programs and UofM partnership programs and events. This includes management of school counselor visit programs. Provide exceptional customer service during all on-campus and special road events. Coordinates and contributes to the success of various on and off-campus student visit programs designed to recruit prospective students and applicants. Assists in coordinating campus tours, high schools visits, community colleges, and other engineering-only events to recruit students to the University of Memphis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area and five (5) years of appropriate experience. Must have a valid driver's license.
